911 Call Map — Overview & Quick Guide

A live, full-screen map of incoming 911 calls and CAD incidents for a PSAP service area. Everything you see is synthetic, clearly-labeled sample data — no real caller information is used.

Try it in 60 seconds
  1. From the Home page, open your location (e.g. Centre County, PA). Sign in if prompted.
  2. Watch the board: calls arrive, move, and close in real time. New/ringing calls pulse.
  3. Click any call — in the left queue or on the map — to open its details (Overview, Locations, Timeline).
  4. Top header: switch Call feed ↔ Feed + CAD to see what a bare call feed gives vs. the same calls enriched with dispatch/CAD.
  5. Bottom-left Legend: click call/incident types to show only those on the map; Reset clears it. It also collapses to free space.
  6. Top-right tools: Layers (heat map, weather radar, trails…), reset/fit view, follow a moving call, and preferences.
  7. Top header: flip to Supervisor view for aggregate metrics.
The map
  • Live call points colored by status; new/ringing calls pulse and ripple on arrival
  • Multiple basemaps (Streets / Greyscale / Dark / Satellite); the service area stays bright while everything outside is dimmed
  • Toggleable overlays: recent calls, location-accuracy circles, movement trails that follow real roads, a call-density heat map, and live weather radar
  • Automatic clustering when zoomed out; framing snapped to the jurisdiction
Every call
  • Class of service (wireless / VoIP / wireline / text-to-911), callback, timestamps, answering position
  • Location: civic address + coordinates, accuracy / uncertainty, source (device, ANI/ALI, NG911, VoIP), and live updates as the caller moves
  • Location & jurisdiction warnings (e.g. near a county line, low-accuracy fix)
  • Full timeline of events and every location fix received
CAD integration Feed + CAD
  • Incident number, type (standard discipline-grouped categories: Law / Traffic / Fire / EMS), priority, dispatch status, and assigned units
  • Detail arrives over time — opened, prioritized, dispatched, en route, on scene — as it would in real dispatch
  • Incident-type shown as a colored ring on the map and a badge in the queue/details
Working the board
  • Searchable, filterable call queue kept in sync with the map
  • The legend doubles as a filter — show only selected call statuses or incident types
  • Call-taker vs Supervisor views (aggregate metrics, technology mix, answer-time SLA)
  • Follow a moving call; per-browser display preferences
Two data-source modes

A live presenter toggle between Call feed (what an NG911 call/location feed alone delivers) and Call feed + CAD (the same calls enriched with the full CAD incident). It shows the value of integration without a reload — useful because a real deployment may start with one and add the other.

Per-jurisdiction

Each location runs its own independent simulation over its authoritative service-area boundary, with local geography, road-following moving callers, and jurisdiction handling (including cross-border transfers). Currently Washington, DC and Centre County, PA.

This is a concept demonstration on synthetic data. It is not connected to any live 911 system, and no real caller information is present.
